Alopex Case Study

Mosquito Guard
Mosquito Guard + Alopex
Driving Awareness and Customer Action Before Peak Mosquito Season
Mosquito Guard provides mosquito control and pest management services throughout Southcentral Alaska. As a seasonal business, much of their annual demand is generated during a short period leading into mosquito season, making early visibility and lead generation critical to success.
Over the years, the company has built a strong reputation through quality service and positive customer reviews. However, they had not invested heavily in digital advertising for several years, leaving limited historical data and few insights into how customers were finding them online.
Heading into the 2025 season, Mosquito Guard partnered with Alopex to increase awareness, generate bookings, and reach customers before peak demand arrived.

When Success Exposed A New Problem
With limited advertising history and very little data to guide campaign decisions, the objective was simple: generate awareness and bookings before peak mosquito season arrived.
Early campaign performance exceeded expectations. Customers were engaging with the ads, clicking through, and taking action at rates that outperformed industry benchmarks.
As the campaign gained traction, however, a different problem emerged. While advertising performance continued to improve, the website struggled to support the increase in traffic. Navigation issues, broken pages, and limited tracking capabilities made it difficult for customers to complete inquiries and nearly impossible to fully measure the impact of the campaign.
"We were getting all of that traffic, and it was pointless."
- Kyle Fox, Alopex Director
Shifting the Customer Journey
To keep momentum moving, Alopex shifted campaign efforts toward direct-response tactics, including call-focused advertising that reduced reliance on the website.
By creating more direct paths between customers and Mosquito Guard, the campaign continued generating leads while working around technical issues that were outside the scope of the project.
At the same time, campaign performance helped identify website and tracking improvements that could strengthen future marketing efforts.

Delivering Results Despite the Challenges
The campaign successfully achieved its primary objectives: increasing awareness and generating customer action before peak mosquito season.
Despite significant website and tracking limitations, the campaign exceeded industry benchmarks and demonstrated strong demand for Mosquito Guard's services. Customers were actively searching for mosquito control solutions, engaging with the brand, and taking action.
"The results were actually exemplary. We were seeing conversion rates that were significantly above industry standards."
- Kyle Fox, Alopex Director
